(MS)JULIE. Memories – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly was a dance performance about the performers’ relationships to their sexual identities and their journey of becoming professional artists. The performance used themes and fragments from August Strindbergs play Miss Julie as its basis. The performers shared history within dance practice served as the starting point for the exercises used to creating the material for the performance.
The performers worked partly individually, reflecting on their relationship to their own physicality. Some sequences were created as a collective, combining the elements that had arisen from the individual work of each performer. Mikko Niemistö also provided text sequences to the performance.
